Dr. Franklin obtained an MA in Clinical Psychology from East Carolina University and a Ph.D. from North Carolina State University's school psychology program. His doctoral research studied validity in computer reporting of psychological test data. After graduation, Dr. Franklin accepted a post-doctoral fellowship at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics. During his fellowship he obtained training in neuropsychology that included rounding in neuroradiology, neurology, neuropathology. He has completed numerous post-doctoral institutes in pediatrics, neurology, and rehabilitation.

Dr. Franklin's work experience spans more than a quarter century. As senior psychologist of South Florida State Hospital, he supervised and managed behavioral psychology programs. He entered full-time private practice three years later, providing consultation and evaluation services to St. Mary's Hospital in West Palm Beach, Florida (A Presidential Hospital) and Boca Raton Community Hospital in Boca Raton, Florida. While at St. Mary's Hospital he evaluated and treated patients with head and spinal cord injuries, physical trauma, and children with chronic medical conditions. He consulted with the St. Mary's Rehabilitation program, the Palm Beach Trauma District, and Children's Medical Services. Dr. Franklin developed and managed a post-doctoral internship training program and Pediatric Oncology Support Team. In addition, Dr. Franklin provided expert testimony for personal injury and child custody litigation.

 

Dr. Franklin is certified by The American Psychological Association in the treatment of alcohol and substance use disorders, listed in The National Register of Health Care Providers in Psychology, and holds an International Certificate of Professional Qualification in Psychology.

Dr. Franklin was chartered by the British Psychological Society in 1995. He was founder of The American Board of Pediatric Neuropsychology and the World Conference on Pediatric Neruopsychology. He served as North Carolina's (NCPA) political officer during the Medicare initiative and has received leadership training from NCPA and advanced leadership training from APA. He has been president-elect and president of the Palm Beach Psychological Society.

Dr. Franklin has been featured speaker and workshop facilitator for post-doctoral training programs in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and several European countries. He is senior editor of two graduate texts, Design and Analysis of Single Case Research and Prediction in Forensic and Neuropsychology.
