HOMESTUDY: Ethics and Diversity Issues in the Practice of Pediatric Neuropsychology - Moderator: Alyson Aviv, Ph.D., Panel: Alexis Clyde, Ph.D., Antonio Puente, Ph.D., & David Weinstock, J.D., Ph.D., 4 CEs

This session will address a variety of ethical issues and pitfalls that pediatric neuropsychologists should be aware of along with practical and helpful suggestions for clinical work. In line with AAPdN's values of diversity, equity, and inclusion the topics covered include issues of language and norms when working with multilingual and multicultural children and adolescents, assessing and working with gender diverse children and adolescents, documentation and billing issues with an emphasis on challenges of tele-testing, and ethical considerations when working with divorcing / divorced families. Level of Activity: TBD Objectives: Understanding the ethical issues related to language barriers and use of appropriate norms when working in international settings. Increase knowledge regarding the ethical practice in the psychological assessment and documentation when working with gender diverse children and adolescents. Review the ethical issues related to billing practices. Managing the ethical dilemmas that the practicing neuropsychologist encounters when working with children of divorced/divorcing parents.
