Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I become Board Certified?
Our boarding process begins with an application, and is followed by a work sample review, oral examination, and written examination. The application contains the eligibility requirements and more details about the examination process. You can find the application at https://www.theaapdn.org/board.html. At this website, you will also find the board certification study guide as well as a form to request for a mentor to help you throughout the certification process. If you have any questions, you can contact Dr. Peter Dodzik, Examination Chair, at peterdodzik@gmail.com or exams@theaapdn.org

  • How do I become a member?
Membership details can be found here, and under each membership type it tells you what each member is and their benefits. After you decide which membership you want, scroll down till you see “Requirements for membership application” and click “application form.” Fill everything out and pay your dues in the same form. If you are going to become a professional member or a student member, you will need to upload your license or school schedule as proof.

  • Will the workshops/conference be recorded if I can't attend live?
Recordings of workshops/conference will be made available for 30 days to those who register if the speaker has given permission for their workshop to be recorded.

  • Will the recordings of the workshops/conference be available for CEUs after the fact?
We have a Home Study Program that offers CE credits for those who complete the program and post-test. Please note that APA requires a post-test for all activities that are not live virtual events where the speaker(s) is available for questions.
While every attempt will be made to make the workshops from the conference available for Home Study, there are many steps in that process, including obtaining consent from the presenter, rendering the video, and creating a post-test. This process can take between 1-3 months. We cannot promise that any particular workshop will be available for Home Study, but we will make every attempt to make that a reality.

  • Does the conference/workshop fee include CEUs, or is there an additional fee?
The conference/workshop fees include CEU’s, meaning that there is no additional fee for obtaining CEU’s.
