Description
This program focuses on practical issues neuropsychologists confront in those parts of their everyday practice that intersect the legal system. The resulting interactions with lawyers and the legal system can be as limited as requests for records and as far reaching as giving testimony in formal proceedings; the involvement can be voluntary or as required by law or order. We will navigate the resulting challenging waters with respect to applicable ethical principles, professional and regulatory standards of care, compliance with applicable law, contractual dealings with lawyers, giving testimony at deposition and trial, and effective forensic practice. In short, we will try to cover it all in meeting ethical obligations and dealing with law and the legal system
